On Friday, one of the Presidential Aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Udom Emmanuel, in a meeting with the delegation and the leadership of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) in Uyo asked for a full support from lawyers to help establish a stable economic development in the country.
While speaking from the Hilltop Mansion, Government House Uyo, Mr. Emmanuel assured lawyers of having maximum economic growth in the country if his ambition is supported to emerge as President.
The Akwa Ibom State Governor, who is vying for the office of the President of Nigeria under the umbrella of the People’s Democratic Party, asked for lawyers to have full participation and to support his party, PDP, for the development of the country.
In a meeting attended by the NBA President, Olumide Akpata, at Government House, Mr. Emmanuel said Nigeria needs a leader with a capacity like his, to create ideas and develop viable economic policies that will stimulate the private sector for employment opportunities.
“If all lawyers can rise up to support PDP, you can be hopeful of seeing a better Nigeria. Some of us do not enter the race as an ambition, or self-aggrandizement but we are challenged”.
“Like in developed nations, no one campaigns with promises that they will build bridges or roads, but what policies do you have that will stimulate the economy, like now we need to rescue, build and reconstruct; so it is going to be a major task”, Governor Emmanuel said.
