Following the directives of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio has reportedly resigned from the Federal Executives Council.
Buhari instructed that any member of the Federal Executives Council (FEC), aspiring for the 2023 presidential race, must resign on or before Monday, May 16, 2022 or or withdraw from taking part in the race.
Akpabio, on that note, made public his resignation in order to ensure his dream of becoming the next President of Nigeria, come 2023.
“As directed by President Muhamadu Buhari, any member of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), who has political ambition should resign on or before Monday, 16th May 2022, I formally resigned from the FEC on Wednesday and also submitted my Presidential nomination form at the party’s national secretariat, Abuja.” Akpabio said.
“I never withdrew from the race as being rumored”.
“I am in the race, not only for my party’s presidential ticket but to also win the presidential race and be sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on May, 29th 2023 by the grace of God.” The ex-Minister added.
