To commemorate the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, yesterday, Punch Newspapers ran a poll on their social media pages where they asked the question: What Do You Think About The FG’s Plan To Lift 100 Million Nigerians Out Of Poverty In 10 Years?
There were mixed reactions to the poll and here are some of the responses.
All indices show it is not attainable! Leave political talk, ensure security of life and property, ensure availability and affordability of power and energy, create economic and social environment in general. These are the basic ingredients for growth and development.

Let them just fix the economy back to the way they met it for Nigerians know how to get themselves out of poverty, for fixing the economy is better than these their paliatives that doesn’t last

What are the major indication that this will take place. There must be synergy between government and the people for this to take place , as it stand today there is a great gulf and mistrust between the people and the government. To lift a 100 million people off the poverty line will take more that mere rhetoric to do. The right thing to do will be to lay a solid foundation which will be obvious to all then a subsequent government can now build on the foundation that has being layed. Create industrial hubs in every local government area in Nigeria with subsidized infrastructures.

Lori iro. They will surely map out the money but they will use it to enrich themselves. Giving someone 20k cannot be empowerment, the real empowerment is helping people to acquire skills that will make them potent for a job. Empowerment means mitigating the difficulty ordinary people encounter while doing thier business. Empowerment means to give a reasonable loan to any individual who has good plans for industry or entrepreneurship that will employ people in future. As for APC led government, I don’t see thier determination to achieve what they have promised. I have lost hope that the government is there to protect and make way for me to prosper.

It cannot work through borrowing… corruption in the system is too high..1million naira project is being done at 50billion dollars. National assembly allocation is a dead sentence to the economy. Restructuring will speed up the motion. Fix the problem of power and build more roads network. Restructure the security architecture without nepotism.
Michael Ngobidi
However, there were few positive reactions.
It’s A Plan Ongoing, It Will See The Light Of The Day. May Nigeria Succeed
