Spanish giants Barcelona are considering doing business with Manchester United in the January transfer window in a swap deal involving two United stars and Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho is yet to hit the ground running since his arrival from Liverpool at the Catalan club and has been consistently being linked with moves away from the club.
The Brazilian playmaker had a successful loan spell with Bavarian club Bayern Munich which he won the treble with them in 2020, yet his place is still not guaranteed at Barcelona.
New boss Xavi is looking to bolster the squad with new additions especially in the attack and both Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are in serious considerations but can only be made possible should United agree to their terms in a swap deal.
The same transfer is being planned for City star Ferran Torres and rumours suggest Torres be interested in returning to Spain having faced uncertainties since his arrival in Manchester.
Barça boss Xavi made it clear of his intentions to overhaul the squad, but due to the club being heavily struck by the pandemic which caused Lionel Messi to leave, big signings are almost impossible and only swap deals and low cost acquisitions can be achieved.
