An Argentine referee has filed a case with the police accusing a Lanus player whom he said has threatened to killed him.
Referee Dario Herrera who was the centre referee in Lanus 3-1 defeat to Racing on Monday night reported that Lanus striker Lautaro Acosta had threatened to kill him.
According to the report, Herrera said Acosta allegedly used a foul language on him, saying “You’re corrupt… if you ever referee us again I am going to kill you.”
This report was unearth by Reuters who claimed it was filed after the game at Avellaneda, a suburb of Buenos Aires.
The grievances is understood to be part of the frustrations as Lanus are winless in four league games.
