Ghana star Andrey Ayew added to his AFCON goal tally when he scored his country’s only goal against Gabon on Friday night.
Ayew scored in the 18th minutes after turning away from a defender before he sent in a rocket strike straight into the goalkeeper’s right hand bottom corner.
Ayew has now scored 10 AFCON goals for Ghana cementing his place as Ghana leading scorer in AFCON.
He is ahead of Asamoah Gyan who is on 8 goals, Osei Kofi 7, Wilberforce Mfum 6, George Alhassan 6 and Abedi Pele Ayew’s father completes the top 6 with 6 goals.
Ghana have recorded a point and a goal in this year’s AFCON, losing one with one draw, and must win their last game against Comoros for a place in the knock out phase.
