Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has struck a deal with Al Hilal football club in the Saudi Arabian league.
The forward has signed a one-and -a-half-year deal after agreeing to leave Al Shabab.
Ighalo was denied a chance to represent Nigeria in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after making a U-turn in his Super Eagles career.
The 32-year old reversed his earlier decision to retire from the country’s National team in 2019 but was recalled in 2021 by then coach of the Super Eagles, Coach Gernot Rohr.
Al Hilal made the announcement acquiring the services of the former Manchester United striker on their official Twitter handle on Saturday.
‘Welcome the ‘Eagle’, Odion Ighalo,” the tweet read, accompanied by a graphic image of the Nigerian in his club’s colour.
The player himself also confirmed the story on his verified twitter page which read, ‘ thank you Al Shabab’ which brings an end to their relationship.
He is the current leading scorer in the Saudi Arabian league with 12 goals to his name and the deal within the league hands him the same name going into his new club.
