The streets of Uyo have experienced serious unrest with gunshots and physical attacks on residents in the past few days.
Some members of purported cult groups are said to be exchanging banters which have been extended to innocent residents.
Some days ago, Akpan Essien, a popular street in Uyo metropolis off Abak road was attacked and residents of the area lost great valuables as phones, bags, and even provisions were stolen from people.
The same act was extended to Atiku Abubakar way, Oku street and on Friday night was taken to Abak Road Housing Estate, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat, and Abak Road of that axis.
The clash was said to have erupted at Aka road, close to Nepa Line axis as machetes were used to wound people as it graduated to exchange of gun power.
The extent of killings is yet to be unraveled but according to multiple sources, lives have been lost in these clashes.
