Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League winners Al Ahly of Egypt have emerged as the 3rd best team in the world after winning bronze in the just concluded FIFA Club World Cup.
Al Ahly defeated Al Hilal 4-0 in the 3rd place playoff to emerge bronze winners.
The result means that Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo and his new club Al Hilal went back empty-handed in the Club World Cup.
Al Ahly lost the semifinal to Palmeiras as Al Hilal surrender to Chelsea after extra time through Kai Havertz’s 117th minutes strike.
The African side have shown great class and have also returned for their CAF Champions League campaign after having their first game postponed.
