Popular telecommunications Company, MTN, has unveiled its new logo which features minimal design and Nigerians on Twitter have reacted to it with varying opinions on the update.
Adewale Adetona, a user on Twitter who made a post with photos showing the old and new logos said that the reason the company changed its logo was that they want to be perceived as a tech company rather than a Telco.
MTN’s new logo/rebrand is based on the fact that they now want to be seen as a Tech company, rather than a Telco. Interesting!
Tweeps had interesting takes on the innovation.
The Maverick attributed the change to the APC effect.
The new logo is too drab. Is MTN behaving like #APC now? Because all they (APC) do is drag everyone and everything backwards
W.S.A was not concerned about the logo redesign but the drastic data reduction he experienced to which MTN responded.

The new is refreshing, graphically lightweight with focus on just 2 colors. Nice! Simple!
July Queen gave some tips on what should be done to enhance the look of the logo.
Darken the edges of the oval shape, reduce it a bit, turn blue to yellow, change the font and the font color. Ok

To be honest, I don’t think they can do more than this , you need to see the logo and be able to identify that yes, this is MTN. The older logo looks like kids logo..😀 see Pepsi logo over the years the changes are not much.. they need to keep it this way for easy recognition.
