Nigerian Athlete Blessing Okagbare has responded to the 10-year ban imposed on her by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).
AIU on Friday issued a statement after finding Okagbare guilty of doping trial on the former Olympic silver medalist.
AIU statement said the sole arbitrator adjudicating the case concluded that Okagbare’s “use of multiple prohibited substances” was “part of an organized doping regimen in the lead-up to the Tokyo Olympic Games.”
The 33-year old took to social media to respond to the AIU’s decision amidst worry from her supporters.
“My attention has been drawn to the statement issued by the AIU regarding its disciplinary panel decision.
“My lawyers are currently studying it for our next line of action which we will inform you soon.” Okagbare wrote.
