The Africa Women Cup of Nations’ qualifiers has come and gone as teams turn their attention to the tournament itself.
Since the number of the participating teams was increased from 8 to 12, the change will take its full effect in Morocco when teams file out for the 2022 edition of the AWCON.
12 teams will participate in Morocco later this year for the crown as host Morocco already secured their place in the event as a host.
The remaining 11 slots were left to be fought for as teams seek to take part in the event.
Nigeria’s Super Falcon stood their ground to cement their place in the tournament after a home and away victory over Code d’ivoire.
Botswana is set to make their debut in the tournament after seeing off Zimbabwe in the last qualifying round.
Burkina Faso babes is another team to make their debut in the tournament after defeating Guinea Bissau 7-0 on aggregate.
Burundi will also make their first appearance as Senegal and Cameroon also qualified.
