Since Eunisell, a popular company took over the duty of rewarding the highest goalscorers in the Nigeria Professional Football league, the race has become more interesting.
Akwa United have produced two top goal scorers in the past two seasons, with NPFL record top scorer Mfon Udoh and Charlse Atshemini winning it for the club.
Udoh was the leading scorer in the abridged league when the league was divided into two due to the league management company’s advice after running out of time.
Last season, during the team’s maiden league title-winning campaign, Akwa United forward Atshemini bracket with Nasarawa United forward Silas Nwankwo to win the Eunisell award with 19goals each.
As the current 2021/2022 season advances, the race has become more interesting as Rivers United forward leads the race.
