Newly created Football Club in Akwa Ibom State Sir Monty FC announced their arrival in a Nigeria Nationwide League game after holding their host Leopard FC to a 1-all draw at the University of Calabar Sports complex on Wednesday.
Leopard took the lead in the first half before the away side equalized through a set-piece.
Set piece specialist Unwana Joseph who came in as a substitute took a 30-yard strike in the 70th minutes to bring his side level.
The club which had announced the appointment of the pioneer coach on Tuesday were quick to adapt and record an emphatic draw in their first-ever league game as a club.
The Nigeria Nationwide league kicked off on Wednesday and a result worthy of recognition was recorded by the privately-owned Akwa Ibom State Football Club.
