The former deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari, at the probe panel led by John Egbunike, a deputy inspector of police claimed that the IPOB and the ESN are behind his drug trafficking misfortune.
Kyari did not deny violating the social media rules of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and was rebuked by the panel for carrying out such an act despite being warned against the same practice previously.
“It is a campaign to smear his reputation by members of IPOB/ESN who vowed to destroy him, due to his onslaught against them in the South East,” the embattled ‘super cop’ was quoted to have said in the report.
In a report submitted to the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba by the probe panel, Kyari claimed that the IPOB and the security wing, ESN were after him because of the assault in the southeast.
Nevertheless, the Inspector-General of Police and the force management team on Wednesday, February 16th visited the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad in his office at the supreme court of Nigeria, Abuja.
The police force stated that the visit to the chief justice is not for anything but to ensure that justice takes place.
The United States Attorneys’ office, central district of California also requested for the arrest of Abba Kyari who has a link to the notorious fraudster Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, also known as Hushpuppi, who is standing trial for various offenses that include internet fraud and money laundering.
