Cameroonian forward Vincent Abubakar has completed his first match in the ongoing African Cup of Nations in his country without a goal.

Cameroon qualified to the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations 2021 delayed edition thanks to a 2-0 win over the Gambia on Saturday night.

Toko Ekambi scored both goals for the host as they secured a place in the last four.

But what caught the attention of many was Cameroon star man Vincent Abubakar who played his first match of the tournament without finding the back of the net.

The 30-year old Abubakar has scored six goals from four games but couldn’t add to his tally in his fifth game of the tournament against the Gambia.

The Al Nassr forward scored five goals from three games in the group stage as he added one in the round of 16 but failed to continue his scoring streak against the Gambia marking his first match in this year’s tournament without a goal.

Cameroon awaits the winner between Burkina Faso and Tunisia to determine their semi-final opponents.
