Popular Nollywood actress, Ini Edo, has announced that she had a baby girl through surrogacy.
She spoke at length about her decision to become a mother, her business, and work with blogger, Stella Dimokokorkus who made this announcement on her Instagram page.
In the interview, Ini Edo revealed that she used a surrogate mother to carry and birth her daughter.
“I do have a daughter and I had her through surrogacy. The eggs are mine and so genetically, she’s my blood. I chose this path to fulfill my dream of becoming a mother.”
When asked about the baby’s father, she remarked, “I opted for a donor for me and my baby’s peace of mind…ideally, it is marriage and then children but we do not live in an ideal world”.
She also revealed that she wanted to make the announcement about her baby during her 1st birthday celebration but alleged that “mischief makers” beat her to it and “spoilt the beautiful story with lies”.
The actress dismissed claims that a certain Kome is the father of her child. She insisted that they were just friends asserting that he is a responsible family man.
“Kome has been my friend for years and that is what it is, period. He is a responsible family man and does not deserve to be dragged into my motherhood story…anyone saying that he is the father of my daughter is from the pit of hell.”
Ini also told Stella that surrogacy is expensive but that she would recommend it to women who have issues with conceiving naturally. She said that being a mother is an awesome feeling and that is she is “grateful and thankful to be her daughter’s mother”.
She went to say that she wants to keep her daughter away from social media so she can live a private life.
The actress, when asked about her plans to get married, told Stella Dimokokorkus that marriage is not a priority for her saying that she had been married before but it was not a bed of roses.
