Leicester City forward Ademola Lookman has successfully switched his International allegiance from England to Nigeria.
The 24-year old previously represented England in U19, U20, and U21 levels but decided to file an appeal to return to the country of his roots Nigeria.
Lookman was ineligible to play for Nigeria during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after his appeal was not given a nod by world football governing body, FIFA.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles were short of numbers in the attack after Napoli forward Victor Osimhen tested positive for COVID-19 a few days before the arrival of invitees in Abuja.
Watford failed to release Emmanuel Dennis as well as Al Shabab who also refused to release Odion Ighalo and he was in high demand but was not available.
Lookman is on loan from German side Red Bull Leipzig to Leicester City and he’s having a good time with his new employers.
The former Everton man will be available for the crunch World Cup qualifiers against Ghana in March and April if he’s invited.
