Nigeria forward Taiwo Awoniyi has opened his goalscoring account after his 45th-minute header against Sudan.
The Union Berlin of Germany attacker was at the right place after William-Troost Ekong had flicked Kelechi Iheancho’s set-piece.
He had an accidental header which the goalkeeper misjudged and conceded the weak header.
His strike increased Nigeria’s lead as they were two goals better than Sudan in the first half.
Awoniyi was a replacement for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen who tested positive for COVID-19 a few days before the team departed Abuja to Cameroon.
They look almost winning the group after another impressive display against the Sudanese.
