The Confederations of African Football (CAF) has sanctioned the Equatorial Guinea Football Association with a $5,000 fine.
The African football governing body has also put Equatorial Guinea player Estaban Orosco on a two-match ban for his violent act during his side’s 3-1 defeat to Senegal in the quarter-final of the ongoing AFCON.
CAF during its disciplinary record meeting on Tuesday took the decision and published an official statement on the body’s official social media handle.
“To issue a call to order to Senegal players Saliou Ciss and Keita Belda following their regrettable behaviour at the end of the game.
“To issue a call to order to Equatorial Guinea players Ivan Edu and Emilio Nsue following their regrettable behaviour at the end of the game.
“To suspend Equatorial Guinea player Estaban Orosco for two matches in any official CAF competition.
“To impose a fine of 5000 USD on Equatorial Guinea Football Federation.” CAF statement reads.
