A female citizen of Akwa Ibom State has indicated an interest in the race to succeed Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel come 2023.
The Akwa Ibom Gubernatorial race welcomed its first female aspirant as Lady Janet Akpan made the declaration having started her consultations.
According to a source as quoted via a social media posy by Nsikakabasi Akpan said Lady Janet has so far visited the village head of Nung Udoe, PDP executives at her Ward, and a host of stakeholders to intimate them of her ambition.
The post also described the aspirant as a native of Ibesikpo Local Government area (Ward 3) and a philanthropist based in the United States.
The news broke after the Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel had picked Pastor Umo Eno as a candidate he tips to succeed him.
Several statesmen have also made their own various announcements regarding the seat at the Hilltop Mansion including the likes of Oniofiok Luke, Sir Mike Enyong, and the rest.
The emergence of Lady Janet makes the race interesting as it completes a mix of both genders.
