Eight games have been played on matchday one of the 2022 edition of the Akwa Ibom State grassroots league with defending Champions Krane Football club of Eket opening their campaign with a much-needed victory.
Blessed Stars Academy holds the record with the biggest win so far in this year’s edition after beating Cheetah FC 5-3 in a dramatic win.
Two players scored hat tricks in the game with Blessed Stars Israel Joseph netting three times to give his side the win but his heroic was duplicated by Nelson Abraham with another hat trick as each of them were wearing the same jersey number 10.
Those fixtures which are divided into two Zones saw seven wins from eight games with just a draw from the Uyo Zone.
Defending Champions Krane defeated Joshima 3-1 in one of the biggest wins of the matchday one with Eagle Eye producing the same result against Ikota FC.
Other results from both the Onna and Uyo zones were slim victories with just Nichin FA playing out a goalless draw against New Flame in the Uyo Zone.
