Arsenal defender Pablo Mari is in advanced talks with the Italian side Udinese for a possible loan move this January.
According to reports, both Arsenal and Udinese are negotiating for a possible loan deal for the center-back.
“Udinese have opened talks with Arsenal to sign Pablo Marí on loan. Udinese is prepared to cover part of his salary to have Marí on loan.” Fabrizio Romano reports.
The deal is believed to be purely a loan deal and the buy option has been exempted from the deal.
“No buy option included – it’s a straight loan. Negotiations are ongoing,” he added.
Mari joined Arsenal from Flamengo and has failed to establish himself in Mikel Arteta’s side and has been asked to move to secure more game time.
The 28-year old who previously played for Deportivo la Coruna in Spain signed for Arsenal in 2020 following a successful loan spell at the club, but has failed to justify his price tag and has fallen out of favour at the Emirates.
