Augustine Eguaveon has confirmed his appointment as the head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The confirmation came after the announcement was made by the Nigeria Football Federation on the termination of the appointment of Gernot Rohr.
Nigeria parted ways with Rohr a few weeks to the kickoff of the 33rd African cup of Nations and Eguaveon will henceforth be in charge of the three times African champions.
Eguaveon was on Sunday announced after the NFF general virtual meeting and the former Super Eagles captain took to his social media page to confirm the appointment.
“The Nigeria Football Federation has appointed me currently as its Technical Director, as the Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles on an interim basis.”
“This is with immediate effect, and follows the termination of the relationship with Franco-German Gernot Rohr, who has been in charge of the three–time African champions for the past 64 months, and is Nigeria’s longest–serving manager.”
