FC Barcelona have put a deal in place to acquire the services of Manchester United forward Edison Cavani in January.
The deal is said to be a one-and-a-half year deal with a considerable wage rate.
“FC Barcelona have offered Edinson Cavani a year-and-a-half contract. He would earn €3.5m + €1m bonuses for the first six months, and then €4m + €1.5m for the final year of his deal.” our sources said.
Cavani has seen his place under serious threat following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer and a move away from the club is apparent.
The 34-year old was first stripped of his number 7 shirt during Ronaldo’s arrival including lack of game time in his most-preferred number 9 position which is now occupied by the Portuguese superstar.
Barcelona who has been in serious financial crises which has caused the departure of Lionel Messi as well as poor performance on the field are looking to bolster their attack and an experienced hand is needed in that position.
Reports are flying in on the possible departure of Memphis and De Jong but nothing has been concrete yet.
But cavani or Manchester United are set to conform whether Cavani will be allowed to leave.
