A female pilot, Captain Sinmisola Ajibola manned the yoke of the aircraft which carried the Super Eagles of Nigeria for their 11th Africa Cup of Nations, LiveFromNaija understands.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria jetted out of Nigeria for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt on a chattered aircraft alongside the Warriors of Zimbabwe hours after playing out a barren draw at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State.
Sinmisola popularly known as Simi became the first female captain of Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace in June, 2018.
Toyin Ibitoye, Media Officer of the Super Eagles hours after the 23-man Nigerian squad arrived Ismaila showered encomiums on Simi.
“Take a bow Captain Simi of Air Peace,” he said further revealed he wasn’t the only one awed by Sinmisola’s ability to man their plane.
“Her excellent handling of the Super Eagles flight to Egypt ahead of the #TotalAFCON2019 camping in Ismalia was commended by everyone. Top quality.” Ibitoye tweeted.
Simi is from a family of pilots – her dad and four brothers – and joined Air Peace in 2017.
