Nigeria midfielder Wilfred Ndidi has been ruled out of the crunch World Cup qualifiers against the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday and Innocent Bonke has been drafted in to replace the Leicester man.
Ndidi picked up a knock in Leicester City’s 2-1 lose in the UEFA Europa Conference league against Rennes on Thursday and has been confirmed ruled out.
Bonke has been playing for Ligue 1 side Lorient and has made seven appearances for the club season.
The 26-year old has had two caps for the Super Eagles and will be in line to feature again against Ghana next week.
Nigeria will first travel to Kumasi next week before they will host the Black Stars in Abuja a few days later.
