Two Nigerians spearheaded the headlines for Watford as they lost 2-1 in a dramatic fashion to Brentford at Brentford’s community stadium on Friday night.
Both William Troost-Ekong and Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis started for The Hornets as both were superb in their respective positions.
Dennis was on the score sheet again in the 24th minute, netting his seventh premier league goal of the season, heading home Tom Cleverly’s superb corner kick.
Watford suffered a heartbreak when Brentford skipper Jansson equalised in the 88th minute, heading home another set piece of the night.
The Hornets suffered more heartbreak when Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong rushed in to commit a 94th minute foul inside the area, bringing all his efforts of the night to not.
Striker Mbeumo made no mistake in converting the spot kick to give his side the much needed victory, their 3rd of the season at home.
The result means Brentford have now moved up to 9th on the log after gathering 20 points from 16 games.
