Bertrand Traore opened the scoring for Burkina Faso in the 28th minutes but was cancelled out in added time by Adama Guira who scored an own goal.
The game went to penalties as both teams couldn’t score after extra time.
Burkina Faso won 7-6 on penalties after Ouédraogo scored the last spot kick to gift his side the all needed victory as they match to wait for winner between Nigeria and Tunisia.
