European Champions Chelsea will have to go all through the season without their defender Ben Chilwell as the England man is set to miss the rest of the season due to injury.
Chilwell damaged his anterior cruciate ligament in Chelsea’s 4-0 Champions League win over Juventus on November 23.
But it has appeared worst than feared as surgery is required as the only solution.
The Blues are now in the market for a cover especially with the availability of only Marcos Alonso in that position who may likely not be trusted to run the race all alone for the rest of the season.
Chelsea captain Ceaser Aspilicueta is also an option but current boss Thomas Tuchel loves to inject youth in his squad as his captain appears too old for the job.
The Londoners are being linked with Everton left-back Lucas Digne and the possibility of acquiring the French defender is on a high as he already prepares to leave Goodison Park.
