Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze made his 100th La Liga appearance on Sunday in his side’s 2-0 win over Rayo.
Chukwueze was a 62nd minutes sub, coming on for Yeremi Pino.
The 22-year old was snapped up by the Yellow Submarines back in 2015 from Diamond Academy after his illustrious U17 World Cup triumph in Chile.
The Nigeria international went straight to the Villarreal B team, making wonders with his left foot, and was promoted to the first team.
The young lad made his first-team appearance in his side’s 2-2 draw against Rangers on the Europa League on September 20, 2018.
Chukwueze followed that step to make his La Liga debut on November 5, 2018, in his sides 1-1 draw against Levante.
The Super Eagles Star was instrumental in his side’s Europa League triumph in 2021 though he missed the final against Manchester United due to injury.
He has been inconsistent since then for his side, suffering injury after injury, causing most of his appearances this season to be only substitutes.
He has made 52 league starts coupled with 48 substitute appearances for Villarreal in La Liga in his three-year stay with the first team.
