Super Eagles players were in action on Thursday night, both in the UEFA Europa League and the Europa Conference League quarter-finals.
One man stole the show to be the best Eagle that night; Feyenoord forward, Cyril Dessers, struck twice to send his team to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference league at the expense of his National teammate’s team.
Both Dessers and Peter Olayinka started for Feyenoord and Slavia Prague, respectively, but it was the former that progressed to the semi-finals.
Dessers, who started in the middle of a three-man attack for Feyenoord, struck in the 2nd and 59th minute to ensure his team’s qualification.
Olayinka also started in attack for Slavia Prague but on the left side of the attack as his team bowed out 4-6 on aggregate.
The first leg had ended in a dramatic 3-3 draw in Netherlands as Olayinka scored in that game but couldn’t find the net in home against the Dutch side.
