Obinna Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to Channels Television, Obi Cubana is being interrogated at the commission’s Abuja headquarters. On Monday, he arrived at the EFCC office around midday.
Although the allegations against the Anambra-born businessman are still being fleshed out, a source informed Channels Television that his case involves alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
Wilson Uwujaren, the Commission’s spokesman, said he had not yet been briefed on the development when reached.
Obi Cubana made news and trended on social media earlier this year after a grandiose burial service for his late mother in the Southeast.
