Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has disclosed that new signing Ferran Torres is still not eligible to represent the club despite finalising his contract.
Xavi told the media on Sunday after his side’s 1-0 away win over Real Malloca in a la liga game.
Torres joined Barça from Man City in a £55m deal and has been cleared fit to play but the Financial Fair play rules doesn’t allow so.
Xavi said “Ferran cannot be field by us until we remove a reasonable sum from our payroll so we can include him.”
The Catalan club has been In a serious financial crises for more than a year now, one of the reasons Lionel Messi left as they couldn’t afford his salary anymore.
Barça are trying to get rid of some players with the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Samuel Umtiti and many others to help them register their new recruit.
