The Federal Government arraigned 15 suspects on Wednesday evening in Abuja, amid high security, in connection with the October 29 raid of the Abuja apartment of a Supreme Court Justice, Mary Odili.
Alex Onyekuru and Igwe Ernest, two prominent lawyers, Stanley Nkwazema, a journalist, and Memunat Maisanu were among the accused.
The Inspector-General of Police charged them with 18 counts before Justice Nkeonye Evelyn Maha of a Federal High Court in Abuja.
All of the suspects, who were brought to court by police agents under high protection, denied all of the charges.
Adjodo Lawrence, Michael Diete-Spiff, Alex Onyekuru, Bayero Lawal (aka EFCC Director), Igwe Ernest, Aliyu Umar Ibrahim, Maimuna Maishanu, and Dr. Ayodele Akindipe are among the accused (aka herbalist).
Yusuf Adamu (aka Chief Peter Odili’s Godson), Assistant Superintendent of Police Bashir Musa, Mohammed Yahaya, Stanley Nkwazema, Shehu Jibo, Abdullahi Adamu, and Abdullahi Usman are among the others.
