Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne has reportedly agreed to a deal to join MLS side Toronto FC when he sees out his contract with his current club at the end of the season.
Insigne will sign a five-year deal with the Canadian-based club in June and it’s certain that a deal has been agreed with both parties.
“Toronto is ‘more than serious’ for Lorenzo Insigne, as reported days ago. They’re pushing. The official proposal has been discussed with Insigne’s camp.
“€11,5m per season net salary plus €4,5m add ons. Five-year deal. Insigne is seriously thinking about it.” Fabrizio Romano reported.
The 30-year old Italian was a transfer target for both Inter Milan and English side Tottenham Hotspur but the Italian has decided to go abroad.
The economic implication is a reason for the move abroad but his desire not to play against Napoli at any level has also been a rationale as revealed by his agent days back.
Insigne joined Napoli in 2006 as a teenager and has spent his entire career since at Naples and wishes never to play against a club he is in love with.
