The race for the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, under the umbrella of People’s Democratic Party, was concluded on Sunday.
Two Aspirants have been declared winners and hence, flag bearers of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the upcoming 2023 General elections.
Honourable Mark Esset emerged as winner of the PDP primaries to run as the party’s flag bearer in the 2023 General election. He will be running for a seat at the National Assembly, to represent Uyo Federal constituency.
Mark scored the highest number of votes cast on Sunday, scooping 75 votes.
Meanwhile, the ticket for the Uyo State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly was won by Uwemedimo Asuquo.
Uwemedimo defeated all his co-aspirants, gathering the highest number of votes.
Both Uwemedimo Asuquo and Honourable Mark Esset will stand in the elections and will fly the flag of People’s Democratic Party in next year’s poll.
