On Saturday, the popular Nigerian music executive, Ubi Franklin, denied the earlier report of his failure at the All Progressive Congress Primaries of the Cross River State.
Franklin had earlier aspired for the ticket to run as a candidate for the Cross River State House of Assembly, Yakurr Constituency 1, under the umbrella of the APC.
Franklin was earlier reported to have lost the primary election to his compatriot, Cyril Omini, who is the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade.
Mr. Omni at the initial counting had 17 votes while Mr. Franklin was said to have 12 votes and Ubi Itam who also aspired collected 11 votes.
Franklin assured his supporters and friends of his victory after the recounting, “Dear friends, disregard any news that I lost election. I won the election. I sat before an appeal panel yesterday and votes were counted, and it shows I won. Be patient while we wait for the report from the appeal panel. Thank you,” he tweeted.
