Sabinus’ Biography:
Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu, popular as Mr Funny or Sabinus, is Nigeria’s foremost comedy and online skit maker. He was born on the 30th of January 1985 in Port Harcourt. He is a comedian, actor, content creator and Social media influencer.
Education:
He had his early education in Port Harcourt before proceeding to the University of Port Harcourt where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and Communication studies.
Career:
Mr funny or Sabi nwa as he is fondly called, discovered his talent in comedy at a very tender age and he began doing comedy skits while he was at the university in 2015 but he began to see mainstream success in 2019. Sabinus popularly known for his catchphrase “Something hooge,” is one successful comedian and skit maker in Nigeria who got noticed when he started putting up his work on Instagram and influencers started sharing his work.
Sabinus can be rated as one of the best skit makers in Nigeria because of his creative approach and style in comedy.
He recently sued two Nigerian food companies for allegedly using his image and catchphrase without his permission. Friesland food used his trademarked catchphrase “Something Hooge” to advertise the Peak milk product while UAC used an animated image of Sabinus in ads.
Awards:
Mr Funny has won several awards since breaking into the mainstream media a few years ago. They include;
- Bae awards for ‘Best Online Comediam’ in 2019
- DENSA awards for ‘The Creative Social media’ in 2021
- Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for ‘Best Online Social Content Creator’ in 2022.

Mr Funny is not married but he is said to be in a serious relationship.
