Super Eagles and Genk of Belgium forward Paul Onuacho will be on the sidelines for at least four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.
The forward who has been on superb form for his club was withdrawn in the second half as his club Genk was held to a 1-1 draw by Antwerp at the weekend.
The forward opened the scoring in the 32nd minutes but was withdrawn in the second half after being struck by injury.
The medics have proposed a four-week stay on the sidelines for the striker which has ruled him out of the Super Eagles’ AFCON opener against the Pharaohs of Egypt next month.
The resulting injury is a major blow for Nigeria as they wait for a return of Osimhen who was also out injured last month for a full recovery.
