This season is yet to be concluded in major leagues and it’s likely that only two Super Eagles players will be called cup as winners in Europe.
Samuel Chukwueze was targeted to be the biggest achiever this season but his Villarreal fairy tale run in the UEFA Champions League was halted by Manchester City in the semi-finals.
Victor Osimhen’s Napoli have missed out in the race for the Serie A title and it seems they will be without a trophy.
The following players have won trophies this season, with their clubs in Europe.
Zaidu Sanusi – Premeira Liga:
Super Eagles left back, Zaidu Sanusi, was the saviour of his FC, Porto side, in their league decider against Benfica.
The defender scored at stoppage time to ensure that they are crowned Champions of the Portuguese Premier league 2021/2022.
Sanusi joined Porto from fellow Portuguese league side, Santa Clara, in 2020 and has been in superb form en route their league victory.
The left-back has scored three league goals this season, coupled with his solid defense ability.
Porto was crowned ‘Worthy Champions’ and Sanusi was instrumental to it.
Moses Simon – French Cup:
Nantes forward, Moses Simon, is the second Super Eagles player to achieve a trophy this season, with his European club.
Nantes beat Nice to win the French cup and Simon was instrumental in the victory.
The 26-year old former Gent star scored the decisive penalty against Monaco in the semi final to set his side up for the trophy.
Their victory means Nantes has won it’s first trophy in 21 years and Simon is happy to be a part of the victory.
“Na God🙏always put your trust in him. Champ 🇫🇷 merci à vous @FCNantes”, the former AS Trencin ace wrote on his Twitter page.
Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey may be expecting a trophy as they are in the European final with their club Rangers.
