The winter European transfer window was slammed shut on Monday, January 31st at midnight, but before now, several clubs have made acquisitions to bolster their team in one way or the other.
Many attempted deals fell through while others were successful as some signings came with a bid of a surprise, the fun which football brings.
Juventus leapfrog Arsenal to land the biggest signing of the Winter window, acquiring Vlahovic from fellow Serie A Club Fiorentina for a deal worth €81.60m.
The 21-year old signed a deal until the summer of 2026 with the Turin club and he has been handed the number 7 Jersey previously occupied by five-time ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.
With the financial difficulties Spanish giants Barcelona is going through, they were able to strike a deal worth €55m with Premier League side Manchester City.
The Catalans signed Ferran Torres from Manchester City as the 21-year old penned a five-year deal.
Liverpool was able to pull the third biggest signing of the Winter window with the acquisition of Colombian winger Luis Diaz.
The 25-year old Diaz joined from Portuguese club FC Porto for a fee reported to be worth €45m.
The Anfield club is trying to fill the void created by both Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane who are representing their respective countries in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Salah and Mane have led Egypt and Senegal respectively to the semifinals of the AFCON2021 ensuring their delay for a return to Liverpool and the Club has moved to sign Diaz as their replacement.
Premier League new spenders Newcastle United came into fourth place having made their record signing after landing 24-year old Brazilian international Bruno Guimaraes for €42.10m from French side, Lyon.
