Crystal Akpan, a resident doctor at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital’s (UCTH) Cardiology Department, is reported to have committed suicide.
According to hospital sources, the young medical practitioner committed suicide by drinking a chemical substance that was thought to be Sniper.
The cause of his death is unknown, although according to an unsubstantiated report, Dr. Akpan may have committed himself after failing a professional exam that he had attempted for several years without success.
The deceased had three children and was married.
