Tracy Chapele-Ugo, a Pidgin English sports broadcaster, has inherited her father’s chieftaincy title.
She said that the title had previously been bestowed on her father, and that it has never been bestowed on a woman in over 100 years, especially if the family has sons.
Tracy wrote on Instagram, “In almost a 100 years #Urhobo Kings don’t give a father’s chieftaincy title to his daughter especially when there are sons. Today my family/People/Elders/Ovie found me worthy. Daddy’s chieftaincy title has been transferred to me. Chief Suo Chapele; Okugbe 2 of Udu Kingdom.”
