Chelsea and Morocco forward Hakim Ziyech has on Tuesday announced his retirement from international football.
The forward missed his country’s Africa Cup of Nations 2021 participation in Cameroon after being snubbed by his coach.
“I will not return to the Moroccan national team. It is my final decision […] I am sorry for the public.” I feel sad for sure, but my full focus is now with Chelsea.” Ziyech said.
The former Ajax man has been on his way back to form having showed class in his recent league goal against Tottenham.
The 28-year old last played for Morocco back in June 2021 and has not been given the opportunity to have a better farewell for his fans back home.
