Azubuike Michael Egwu known professionally as Zubby Michael, was born to Mr & Mrs Egwu who hail from Ekwusigo local government area of Anambra state was born on the 1st of February, 1985 in Ekwusigo but he grew up in Yola, Adamawa state. His parents are both civil servants.
Zubby Michael started his Primary and Secondary education in Yola before proceeding to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass communication.
ACTING CAREER
Zubby Michael started acting at the tender age of 8 in Yola but he however made his first appearance in 2006 in the movie Missing Rib. He became more popular for his lead role in ‘Three widows’.
He started off his career in Asaba, Delta state where he featured in Missing Rib but before he joined, Zubby was a TV drama actor who featured in many soap operas and commercials.
Zubby, known for always acting as the villain in movies, has featured in many blockbuster movies. He is a scriptwriter, actor and producer and he has been nominated for several awards including the City people movie award for ‘Best Supporting actor of the Year’ in 2015, Nigeria Achievers award for ‘Best lead actor of the Year’ in 2019, Nigerian MSMEs and Achievers award for ‘Nollywood personality of the Year’ in 2018 and a host of other awards.

Zubby Michael is not married but it is said that he has an adopted son whose name is CHIKAMSO EJIOFOR. He was also in a relationship once with Mary Okoye, younger sister of the Duo, Paul and Peter Okoye but he wasn’t ready for marriage so the relationship ended.

The governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano on the 25th of November 2019, appointed Zubby Michael as his Special Adviser on Media.
